Today is a big day! It’s the launch of an exciting new series on the blog - Room Tours! If you’re an interior obsessive like me, this series will be right up your street! I’ve got some amazing mummies on board and they’re going to let us into their homes to show us around their nurseries, playrooms and kids bedrooms. So mamas, if you’re looking for some inspo for your next room makeover look no further!
Our very first room tour comes courtesy of Jessica from @RaisingtheRegans. Jessica is a 29 year old photographer who lives in rural Lancashire with her partner, Tom, her 14 month old son, Sydney Ray, and their puppy Willow.
Sydney Ray has the most gorgeous nursery! It has a mountain theme and the whole room was inspired by the ‘Kid you’ll move mountains’ disc from Bear and Rue; a company that Jessica discovered on Instagram. I love how one small piece like this can spark our imaginations and inspire a whole room!
The main colour in the nursery is green; Jessica wanted to create a soothing sanctuary for Sydney to sleep in and she's nailed it! Green is a great choice for a nursery; it’s such a calming colour and it really plays well into the mountain theme. How gorgeous do our Adventure Awaits and Wild Child prints look against this dark green wall? I’m in love!
Jessica’s favourite part of the nursery is the mountain mural on the wall. They painted this themselves and it looks fantastic!
Another highlight of the nursery is Sydney’s blanket. It’s a keepsake blanket made up of all his tiny sleepsuits and it even includes his coming home outfit. So precious!!
What do you think of this mountain theme nursery? Let us know in the comments!
Jessica’s Top Tips for Decorating your Nursery
- Use Pinterest to collate ideas and inspiration
- Use tester paints to make sure your colour choices work in your room
- Keep it simple! The room doesn’t have to be ‘done’ before baby arrives. It’s so much more fun to add bits as you go and style the room around your babies personality.
